About

rawr...

The main purposes of maintaining this blog is probably more for my hobbies.

Hobbies being, collecting toys, cooking and trying to take good photos…

The probable reason why I started out on collecting toys is probably because when I was a kid, I simply loved playing with toys. Ah yes, the glorious 80’s, the golden era of toys and the dawning era of video games… Come the 90’s, the golden era gave way to a quick and silent death and it has never been the same since.

I mainly collect Transformers, well, there have been many series since the original G1 in the 80’s. Used to be a completist, trying to complete entire lines and series like no tomorrow but the butterflies slowly and steadily made their permenant home in my pockets so I had to evict them. Basically now I focus on the vintages since they hold the most memories of my childhood.

Had tonnes of M.A.S.K toys as a kid too. It’s like the greatest ever toy line ever created, PERIOD. Who can resist life-like vehicles that transform at the touch of a button, have projectiles that shot really far and hard and were choking hazards to boot and best of all, in scale pilots with basic articulation and helmets. Too bad Kenner went under and the line has since been sold to HASBRO with no signs of being re-released or re-vamped much like how Transformers have kept with the times. HASBRO, if you are reading this, there are TONNES and I mean TONNES of people who I know who would be absolutely happy if you decide to revive this line.

Pretty impulsive buyer I guess, since what I collect is determined mainly by my interest at that point of time. SIC KRs, SH KRs, Halo 3 Action figures, Gundam model kits, Garo figs, etc etc… But I’m streamlining my collection now to mostly just TFs and M.A.S.K. Still looking for the Capture Chariot and Dagger Assault for Visionaries to complete the series (MISB/MIB preferred, ebay is just not a very pocket friendly place to shop at).

I do a fair bit of cooking too. I do cakes, brownies, cookies, BBQ, pasta, pizza, bread, soups, meats (except beef), pastries, etc etc… Not much in terms of specialisation though. Even though I do so much cooking, there have been times when I’ve failed spectacularly… If my dreams to start a F&B business are to come to fruition, I guess I’d better find some area to specialise in… Being too general in F&B is a sure way to fail, I need to find my niche market and target the right audience. Best scase scenario is where I expand, sell franchises, become global and make the business continue on even after I’m departed from this world, to let future generations grow up with my food, just like Mac’s. Only that it should be healthier and affordable to all.

On photography, got myself a DSLR (Sony A350) in mid-08 and have been trying to take good photos ever since. My friend once told me that it takes a ‘genius’ to take really crappy photos when using a DSLR, and I guess I’m that sort of genius when it comes to these sort of things. Currently I’m more into shooting sceneries and still-life objects, I don’t do people nor non-static objects at the moment, my skill level is just not there yet. Toy collecting probably had a part to play in this, to take photos of them to share with the rest of the world. I still kind of suck at it though…but I guess I’m improving slowly?

This truly is the golden age of narcissism with the advent of the internet and blogs…
Though I feel that certain things should be kept private private instead of being privately public…

Basically, the bottom line is that I’m still very much a kid at heart even though I’m quite the relic.

Last of all, I don’t have the habit of reading other people’s blogs… Only do so when asked to by friends or the person themselves… Blogs are kind of like an online diary?
And it’s pretty rude to read someone’s diary without prior permission…

Yep, ancient relic mode in operation again…
